Processing Notices
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Review the notice to ensure it meets all legal requirements
- Investigate the alleged infringement claim
- Take appropriate action, which may include:
- Removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content
- Notifying the user (if applicable)
- Taking other actions as legally required
- Respond to the complainant within a reasonable timeframe
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was wrongly removed or disabled due to a DMCA notice, you may file a counter-notification.
Required Information for Counter-Notice
Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
- Statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your contact information including:

- Telephone number
- Email address
- Consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court in your location (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district where DownBot may be found)
- Statement that you will accept service of process from the complainant or their agent

Counter-Notice Processing
Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, we will:
- Forward a copy to the original complainant
- Inform the complainant that we may restore the material in 10-14 business days
- Restore the material unless the complainant files a court action against you
- Document the process for our records
Repeat Infringer Policy
DownBot maintains a policy for terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users who are repeat infringers. This includes:
- Tracking valid DMCA notices against users
- Warning users upon first valid infringement claim
- Suspending or terminating access for repeat offenders
- Maintaining records of infringement claims and actions taken
Misrepresentation Warning
Under the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including:
- Costs and attorney fees incurred by us
- Costs and attorney fees incurred by the alleged infringer
- Any other damages suffered as a result of the misrepresentation

Good Faith Use
DownBot is designed for users to download videos for legitimate purposes such as:
